Why Does Vista Suck? (Update: Yes, I Use Firefox, But ....)

,----[ Quote ]
| I should also point out that their Outlook 2003 doesn't work very well with
| the system, either. I added the Microsoft Exchange Server account in the
| initial set-up wizard when I installed my copy of Office 2003, and it won't
| connect properly to the account. Thanks to that issue, it won't run at all
| now, and even de-installing it and re-installing it won't eliminate the
| problem. The de-installation doesn't remove the account information, as it
| turns out.
| Just FYI, I have been using Microsoft systems since CPM DOS on the Apple IIe,
| and used to build my own computers from scratch until it got so cheap to buy
| pre-constructed systems about ten years ago. I worked as a net admin for a
| Fortune 100 company for a few years as a second hat during my call-center
| days. I'm not exactly a novice at this. I'm figuring that this will be my
| last Microsoft based system ever. The low price simply isn't worth the hassle
| any longer.

Look at this:

That is a sign of semi-baked products. This is a placeholder, right?

Is this one real?

Microsoft, Listen to the People

,----[ Quote ]
| How much should Microsoft listen to its shareholders? After all, they own the
| company.
| got to asking that question, after listening to last week's annual
| shareholders meeting. I hadn't listened to a meeting for a couple years and
| expected to hear the usual complaints about share price. But there were
| surprising calls for Microsoft to be more morally responsible and to take
| ethical leadership.

Windows vista a failure - Has Microsoft acknowledged that?

,----[ Quote ]
| Microsoft had launched Windows Vista with big hopes of switching most of the
| Windows OS users to Windows Vista very soon. However, going by the reports it
| seems vista has been a failure and now Microsoft has some lawsuits to Windows
| Vista contend with. Though Microsoft has not been acknowledging lesser sales
| however there have been indications like Steve “Sounds of Silence” Ballmer
| blaming software pirates for Vista’s poor sales...

Microsoft admits Vista screwed - report

,----[ Quote ]
| Vista SP1 is code named "Fiji", presumably after a pretty looking
| island which is paralysed by coups.
| In a statement regarding the service pack Microsoft admits that
| Vista has "high impact" problems.

Vista sales slow despite record MS profit

,----[ Quote ]
| The sales rate of Microsoft's Windows Vista is gradually slowing down as the
| operating system reaches the one-year anniversary of its release to
| businesses, according to the company's latest financial results.

Nine burning questions about how Vista is really doing

,----[ Quote ]
| Instead, there's so much spin   -- from Microsoft,  from rivals such
| as Apple Inc.,  from market analysts pushing research and more research
| -- it would even leave Sasha Cohen dizzy. Here's our attempt to unravel
| this puzzle-shrinkwrapped-in-a-mystery.

Acer: PC industry 'disappointed' with Vista

,----[ Quote
| Acer president Gianfranco Lanci became the first major PC manufacturer to
| openly attack Microsoft over the Windows Vista operating system in the
| Financial Times Deutschland on Monday.
| Lanci said the operating system was riddled with problems and gave users and
| businesses no reason to buy a new PC, according to the report. Taiwan-based
| Acer is the world's fourth-largest PC manufacturer, after HP, Dell and
| Lenovo.
| "The whole industry is disappointed with Windows Vista," Lanci said.
