Verily I say unto thee, that Roy Schestowitz spake thusly:
> | This is not abstract speculation; a recent report from a group of
> | corporate CIOs states, 'faster product cycles are seen as a big
> | advantage for open source - CIOs believe that product innovation is
> | faster in open source'.
The old stereotype of FOSS being an inherently slow development model,
due to some misperceived "need" for vast financial resources, has been
well and truly debunked with the Vista farce, if nothing else.
> | According to legendary scientist Albert Einstein, "everything that
> | is really great and inspiring is created by the individual who can
> | labor in freedom."
One of my all-time favourite quotes.
> | Perhaps that is why open-source software is such fertile ground for
> | innovation.
Naturally; it's obvious and self-evident. It's also a thorn in the side
for those who seek to protect the archaic and exploitative proprietary
licensing revenue model.
