That's just the 'base' (default) O/S for O/S-agnostic people who simply surf
the Web and write a couple of letters. The cost of all is pretty much zero, so
why not pick your favourite?

ASUS actually receives Windows for a special price. Microsoft is trying to give
away XP for very cheap just to harm Linux adoption... so that answers
your "luvva mike" question, hopefully.
