PCLinuxOS

| PCLinuxOS installs and boots fast and has a very slick interface - and of
| course, KDE! The biggest hurdle I can see is that since PCLOS doesn’t have a
| regular release cycle (or at least not one as frequent as the Ubuntu
| distros), you have to upgrade a ton of packages after installation, which is
| a bit of a pain for those of us with inferior connection speeds.

No regular release cycle? Most people still use an operating system from 2001
(XP) because it's better than Microsoft's latest and greyest.

First Look at PCLinuxOS 2008 ‘MiniMe’ Edition

| Overall, this distro really deserves two thumbs way up. It’s well put
| together, it’s easy to use and ready out-of-the box and I think can pleasure
| both beginner and experienced users. I recommend to everyone that values high
| comfort and simplicity in a distribution to give PCLinuxOS a try.
