Yes, Microsoft has just lost a top man that was supposed to inherit the
position of other top men (like Gates and Allchin) who had left. It's almost
as bad as Novell, which currently has no general counsel! (they haven't a
replacement and he quit).

Novell and Microsoft will quietly rot together, just like SCO. They are
irrelevant with that mess called Oh-Oh-OXML and software from the 80s which
they have tried to adapt for today's requirement (and failed). Just watch
Vista and NetWare... SUSE loses to (K)Ubuntu every time and Ubuntu isn't even
the best distro out there...

Watch Sun's attempted recovery with a Ubuntu-like 'Open'Solaris. Watch the new
release of KDE 4.0 (boy, it's impressive and 4.1 will be robust too).

The writings are on the wall.
