So explain this if you would - "Ubuntu pre-installed by the end of 2008 or 
early 2009" is just a few months from now.

So Canonical, a South African company is going to null and void all of these 
alleged contracts that Microsoft has with BestBuy, CircCity and other retail 
stores. If it's to believed that these contracts exist then how can 
Canonical/Ubuntu do this unless they have the power to revoke these 
contracts.

Either these contracts are a work of fiction that don't really exist or a 
company based in South Africa has the legal power to simply void these 
contracts. Which do you think is more likely?

Using common sense this seems more like "never tense" to me. Other than 
unsubstantiated hearsay of "I talked to a store manager and he told me 
that..." I have yet to see any credible evidence that anything like this 
actually exists.
