The traditional desktop is being consolidated onto Linux machines,
including laptops, remaining desktop hardware, and new generation
appliances.

Mobility is filling consumer demand;  just as most youngsters would have
wanted an IBM PC in the early 1980s on which to write their thesis, now,
they're looking at ultra-mobile sub-notebooks now.
