"To me, Bill is the great white shark that looks at minnows with no more
consciousness than we look at a plate of food. The shark has no soul. The
shark knows no boundaries. All it has is an appetite. When the shark gets
hungry, it thinks “I’m hungry”, so it eats."

--Mitch Kertzman, former CEO of Sybase

Likewise, the inventor of E-mail shunned Outlook and embraced Thunderbird.

Microsoft has just publicly admitted that performance isn't a priority in IE,
either (let alone security or standards).

Microsoft breaks IE8 interoperability promise

,----[ Quote ]
| This week, the promise was broken. It lasted less than six months. Now that
| Internet Explorer IE8 beta 2 is released, we know that many, if not most,
| pages viewed in IE8 will not be shown in standards mode by default. The dirty
| secret is buried deep down in the «Compatibility view» configuration panel,
| where the «Display intranet sites in Compatibility View» box is checked by
| default. Thus, by default, intranet pages are not viewed in standards mode.

|
| Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) Beta 2 also consumes 52% more memory than its
| predecessor, IE7, and uses almost three times as many threads, said Craig
