Thanks for pointing out this nonsense.
Obviously the only winners are lawyers.
A license cost 16 million dollars. The fine awarded is 1.5 billion dollars.

There is complete disconnect in the software patent world with reality and
the numbers tell it all.

There is no justifiable real commerce behind software patents.
Its just a layer of costs and paper pushing that adds no value
to the economies of the world.
A 16 million dollar license is not needed to cover billions
of dollars worth of real business. It adds no value to real
businesses to be doing business in this way.

Software patents panders to the needs of the power hungry loons
who are unable to share any of their make believe wealth in the real world
to make the world a better place.

Numbers like those should be used as justification for banning
software patents.
