Don't forget that search toolbars and address toolbars are often
interchangeable. One could enter a URL either into the address bar or the
search bar to achieve the same outcome. Search likewise, but Firefox, by
default, redirects to the first result which is delivered by Google.
GoogleBar can be configured for the default behaviour under such
circumstances.
Internet Explorer is irrelevant to this discussion as it's a rusty toolset
that Microsoft equipped most users with. Sad for users that refuse to
explore; fortunate reality to others, unless you are a Webmaster.
