Nope.  It was silly, as the book was already in wide circulation.

This is quite untrue, indeed, the Attorney General even admitted to
being dishonest with respect to this in the court in Australia.

Writing memoires for monetary recompense is a perfectly normal thing to
do.  The only risks for erstwhile colleagues were around the rather
singular fact that the 6th man was never found, and still hasn't been.
That would seem to be a risk to the state which is deserving of
exposure.
