Microsoft's own chip design blamed for Xbox 360 RRoD

Not that I give a damn about Microsoft or their problems... In my humble
opinion all the xbox360 needed was a good review by someone that understood
heat and how to remove it properly. The console and the games are good, but
until the hardware stop overheating (chips un-soldering themselves), I'll
not buy one. The only other thing MSFT should have done also and still has
the ability to do, is offer a Linux mouse and keyboard kit for it. It would
then be a perfect product for market.

I must admit my decision to purchase a ps3 recently had some weight in the overheating issues of the xbox 360. I've been on the verge of buying one for a while now but can't be arsed with the tech support circus associated with RROD. Maybe if they finally fix it as per the article then I'll finally take the plunge and complete my 7th gen console collection. There's a rather natty flight sim game I've got my eye on for XB360.
