I think that, as far as schools are concerned, there's still a lot of
politics. Microsoft has a lot of influence on BECTA and the likes of it. The
curriculum is shaped in such as a way so that it helps a friend, of a
friend, of a friend...
Ultimately, education turns into the study of menu layouts and GUI, not
computing and logic.
